The Penultimate Post
May 14, 2012
If my calculations are correct, this is my second to last blog post for Ms. Haffley’s English 12 class. It is a sad time for me in this aspect of my life because blogging for the enjoyment of my classmates and Ms. Haffley is something that I have taken great pride in over the last two years. I don’t think I have missed a blog post for two years now, but n0w I realize just how much I am going to miss them. (See what I did there?) Anyway, summer is rapidly approaching and I could not be more excited for that. I was swimming in the pool this weekend and when I came inside I could not force myself to do homework for the life of me. I’m in that summer state of mind, and I’m not sure if I can make it another week and a half or whatever it is. Hopefully, I can finish the school year strong…we’ll see how that goes.
Happy Mother’s Day
May 13, 2012
I would like to wish a happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, especially my own. I’d like to thank her for everything that she has done for me over the years. She truly is an inspiration to me and has helped me through everything in my life. Thank you momma!!
Bryce Harper
May 7, 2012
Bryce Harper is a 19 year old phenom who plays baseball for the Washington Nationals. Yes, Harper is one year older than me and he bats third and plays left field for a professional baseball team. This guy is incredible. His senior year in high school he was hitting six hundred foot homeruns and absolutely embarrassing the competition. A lot of people out there don’t like him because he is cocky and arrogant and has a hideous hair cut that makes him look ridiculous. Personally, I think he’s fun to watch because he plays his hardest on every single pitch and it shows. I hope he lives up to all the hype that he has produced because the sky is the limit for this kid and he can go on to do some great things if he stays healthy, out of trouble, and hungry to prove himself.
Hello Blogosphere!
May 6, 2012
It saddens me that most of my fellow classmates are not taking credit in the extra credit blogging opportunity. Not because I think they could use the points, I’m sure everyone’s grade is splendid, but I’m sad because I miss reading everyone’s updates. Reading others blogs on the happenings going on in their lives makes me feel connected with them on a higher level than just classmates. Also, I like the extra credit I recieve for commenting on said blogs…
Playoff Basketball
April 30, 2012
The NBA has kicked off its postseason, and this one promises to be as good as ever. The NBA tries to sell the playoffs as drama, but this is no drama movie; it’s all action all the time. The obvious choice to win it all is the Miami Heat led by should-be MVP Lebron James. The road to the finals got even easier for them when Derek Rose of the Chicago Bulls tore his ACL, but the Heat will still have to route the Knicks, which shouldn’t be hard, and most likely the Pacers and Celtics if my other predictions are correct. From the Eastern Conference, I think the Pacers will pose the biggest threat to the Heat’s title run becaue they play good, aggressive, smash-mouth, Hoosier basketball and it will be tough for the pretty boys from Miami to compete with that. Out West, I see the Spurs and Thunder colliding in the conference finals. I don’t think many other teams out west can keep pace with these two teams. The Lakers are having a down year, unless Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum have monster nights for the next month. With the youth of the Thunder however, I don’t really see the Spurs being able to make another run to the title. This makes it a Heat v. Thunder final and then anything could happen. It all comes down to who has the hot hand and who can play some tough D. The Thunder will have homecourt advantage, and OKC is a very tough environment, but so is Miami. This is tough to predict, but I think it will be the Thunder in 7 with the home team winning every game of the series.
The Hunger Games
April 24, 2012
I am so excited for this next EA. I have decided to team up withhope Hourigan and Will Dugdale to put together the best, most intense, and excellent end assessment known to man. I’m pretty excited because I’ve already seen the movie and I hear the book is even better. I’m also excited to team up with Hope and Will because I know we will do a great job together. With William’s intelligence, Hope’s beauty, and my ability to watch a movie, I think we will create a masterpiece.
End Assessment Numero Tres
April 19, 2012
End Assessment number three has probably been my least favorite end assessment. Not only did I take my sweet time getting the paper started as usual, but this time I picked a dud of a book and film. “The Perfect Storm” may have been one of the longest, most boring and tedious books that I have ever read. I was like reading a history book with a little bit of plot thrown in here and there. Don’t get me wrong, I love to fish which is why I chose the book, but I couldn’t care less about the history of swordfishing in Canada back in the 1800′s. It was useless, pointless information like that that made me dislike the book. But the movie was a little better, but it was hard to sit there for two hours knowing these guys were going to die.I should be finishing up my paper tonight and revising tomorrow.
Here is a video that sums up The Perfect Storm in 30 seconds…(it’s actually 48)
The Upgrade Blog Button
April 19, 2012
Today when I logged onto Edublogs, I noticed a change. There was an “Upgrade Blog” button, so naturally I became excited. I was so excited that I jumped and screamed and threw a crazy party. Then I decided to click the button and discovered that you had to pay for the upgrade. I suddenly became so sad that I locked myself in a closet, slit my wrists, and slammed my head into the wall until I was gushing blood. I’m just kidding I didn’t do any of that, but I was very saddened. I’ve been dealing with the same Edublogs site for the last two years, and now when they finally offer an upgrade, I am unable to attain it. Hopefully one day, all men and women will be able to experience the joy of a free upgrade to Edublogs, but until that day we must all pray and strive to make that day attainable.
La Television
April 11, 2012
Recently, I have been quite neglectful of my homework. Not just because of “senioritis”, but because there are just too many good shows on tv. Whenever possible, I like to be home by 7:30 to catch Jeopardy. I enjoy a good mental workout and I often find myself knowing every single answer. After that, 8:00 is a prime time for good television. On Mondays, I enjoy watching my favorite show, “How I Met Your Mother”. I’m not sure if anyone else watches this program but I find it particularly entertaining. After that, there’s always Family Guy on some channel and I can’t walk away from the tube when Peter and Stewie are cracking me up. Even Meg makes me laugh. So by this time, it’s already 10:00 and I’m ready to go to bed. I’m not sure why I just blogged about all this, except for the fact that I just finished watching Family Guy and I am in a splendid mood thank to it. Thank you for reading.
The Perfect Storm
March 15, 2012
I have never heard of this story in my life. But I have decided to do this as my third End Assessment of the semester anyway. Because I had no idea what it was about, I decided to consult my old friend, Mr. Wikipedia, to find out. It turns out that the plot seems very interesting and the movie not only stars one babe, but two!!!! George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg!!! What a pair of babes, right? Anyway, I’m pretty excited to get started. I hope I will actually be able to get some work done over Spring Break because I’m not going anywhere…thank you baseball. Anyway, thanks for reading friends, peers, Ms. Haffley, and random strangers who creep on my blog over the internet. Have an excellent day.
Who’s better looking? I was forced to use pictures of these men fully clothed so as not to arouse some of my female co-bloggers.
Question to all the ladies out there: does George Clooney look better with or without the beard?
